The Yonkofa Project aims to bring healthcare to underserved areas of Ghana. These areas suffer largely from diseases that are treatable and/or preventable. The first Yonkofa Clinic will break ground in Novemember of 2011. The model provides for small, modern clinics, and housing for medical personnel. Ghana trains many very qualified health care professionals. The Yonkofa Project model allows Ghanaian health care workers to serve in their own villages, in a properly equipped clinic, rather than being drawn into the cities or overseas.Yonkofa means Friendship in Twi, the national language of Ghana.
Dr. Gabriella Nanci, a Medical Professional, Humanist, and Philanthropist has partnered with Jan Brown's Valubuild Panel Homes to build a sustainable medical clinic in Yiwabra, Ghana, West Africa. Here is some of the photography that shows the progression of the Yiwabra clinic. For more information on the Yonkofa Project, refer to Dr. Nanci's Facebook Page.
